Job Description

Special Comments and Job Duties:

  • Assist with the vendor classification process.
  • Assist with the execution of the Vendor Management strategy and pursuit of the Vendor Management goals and objectives.
  • Assist with vendor governance management and compliance.
  • Educate internal personnel on contract and relationship issues.
  • Specific Responsibilities for the Portfolio of Vendors Assigned to the Vendor Manager:
  • Create Vendor Management Process and Policy documents (???)
  • Act as first level of contact for vendors to communicate issues and concerns informally.
  • Act as liaison between stakeholders, executives, and other internal personnel and vendor personnel.
  • Assist in conducting business alignment meetings.
  • Assist in negotiations.
  • Assist with dispute resolution and troubleshoot issues with vendors.
  • Assist with performance management activities.
  • Conduct research on the portfolio vendors and their industries.
  • Coordinate risk-management activities (measuring, monitoring, managing, and reporting).
  • Develop and leverage relationships with the portfolio vendors at all levels within the vendor's organization.
  • Facilitate score carding process and reporting.
  • Keep vendors focused on meeting their contractual obligations and commitments.
  • Participate in the invoice-review process to ensure invoices match services and products delivered and accepted.
  • Provide first level of review for new and renewing contracts.
  • Research and identify new vendors and their products/services.
  • Work with others internally as a member of a cross-functional team to represent the VMI's interests.
  • Work with vendors to apply mid-course corrections when necessary. 
  • Work with vendors to identify and suggest process or other improvements.

Contract for 6 months possible extention up to 1 year
