Staff Accountant


Work for a Fountain based manufacture in the accounting department.  

The Manufacturing Accountant coordinates and controls the financial functions. This includes developing and managing the accounting processes and procedures related to all manufacturing transactions. The Accountant assists the Controller and the manufacturing executive management team the day-to-day accounting duties. The Accountant coordinates and performs monthly, quarterly and annual budget financial consolidations. You should be an individual who likes to take ownership of their responsibilities, be self-motivated with a disciplined and methodical approach to duties and responsibilities. The staff accountant is an hourly position that will require overtime. 


Essential Position Functions and Responsibilities:


Primary duties and responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Billing:  AR/AP posting and management
  • Fixed Asset management
  • Sales: Use Tax Reporting for multiple states
  • Responsible for the month-end accruals and reversals
  • Reconciliation and accounts analysis
  • Cash/Bank monitoring
  • Payroll posting and accruals
  • ACH/WIRE payment set up
  • Costing analysis
  • Annual audit support
  • Reporting of actual financial results 
  • A good understanding of manufacturing processes
  • Demonstrable track record of success in a fast-paced growing business
  • Experience of working with a leading ERP system
  • Accuracy and skills in calculating figures, strong attention to detail; a right first-time attitude and approach.
  • Ability to work without supervision in a busy environment, working to tight deadlines.


Requirements and Qualifications


  • Compliance with all Federal, State, and Local regulations and Company work rules  
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or another analytical discipline from an accredited college or university
  • 2 years working in accounting field
  • Experience with Financial Softwares like Quickbooks/Sage/Oracle preferably with a manufacturing organization
  • Proficient computer skills to include MS Office, Advanced Excel, and experience with Visual Manufacturing Software is a plus
  • Required to conduct work on-site in a plant/warehouse environment
  • Flexible and cooperative attitude, which includes when asked to perform other duties or tasks that are not listed within this job description but within the scope of this position
  • Requires communication skills both written and orally in the English language
  • Requires personal responsibility and accountability
  • Must maintain the confidentiality of all financial accounts, expenses, projects, customers/vendors, and RMB
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, general business practices and financial statements
  • Knowledge of distribution, manufacturing and other support department functions and environments
  • Knowledge of major Publix technology systems and the inter-relationships of those systems
  • Ability to use advanced functions of SAP and Microsoft (Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Relevant business experience
  • Ability to balance work across multiple projects
  • Ability to work independently and to effectively prioritize workload and tasks by assessing needs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Enthusiasm, initiative, and pride in work

Contract-to direct

Pay: $21- $25 depending on level of experience

Schedule: Monday – Friday 7 AM – 3:30 PM or 4 PM
