Job Description

Position Summary:      

The Warehouse Shipping Clerk provides assistance in shipping and receiving in the warehouse department by preparing all outgoing shipments per work-orders; ensuring that the shipment has the correct product that matches the work-order, customer, and address. The position requires attention to detail and extreme organizational practices due to the intricate processes that must be followed. This position also requires overtime.

Essential Position Functions and Responsibilities:

This position includes the following essential functions, but is not limited to them:

  • Confirm all shipments are packaged to arrive safely, right product to right customer with right address, and right label.
  • Understand company and customer’s industry standards for shipping
  • Inform management and supervisors of product shortage or damage
  • Accurately package, label and weigh items to be shipped and ensure proper shipment method and shipping charges
  • Arranges pick-up and drop-off: If packages are shipped and/or handled by a third-party service – such as UPS, FedEx, or a contract hauler – the shipping clerk will schedule and monitor the exchange
  • Tracks, traces, and updates the status of outgoing shipments
  • Accurately enter the shipment details into the computer system
  • Responsible for proper paperwork and documentation for all shipments and receiving
  • Trouble shoots shipping issues and customer complaints and work to solve
  • Processes shipping and delivery reports
  • Engage with drivers and customers with a positive attitude
  • Responsible for Kanban services, processing a pick list, proper storage  of good, processing incoming goods
  • Understands Transaction processes, MRP, material planning, customer portals

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Successful experience working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Forklift and/or overhead crane certification is strongly preferred
  • Operates shipping computer and other general warehouse/office equipment
  • 6 months warehouse, logistics, and customer service experience preferred
  • Collaboration with company departments for shipping deadlines and priorities
  • Strong sense of time organization and urgency
  • Knowledge of EXCEL
  • Maintain inventory of shipping essentials
  • Ensure adherence to environmental management and systems
  • Requires a flexible and cooperative attitude, which includes when asked to perform other duties or tasks that are not listed within this job description but within the scope of this position
  • Requires communication skills both written and orally in the English language
  • Requires excellent safety practices, which includes keeping a clean work area
  • Interpersonal skills are essential and vital to maintain an organized warehouse
  • Effectively process change through company feedback and reviews
  • Requires personal responsibility and accountability meeting workmanship standards
  • with little supervision to complete assignments
  • Must maintain the confidentiality of all projects, customers, and company
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Physical Requirements and Hazards

The employee will be required:

  • Standing: working with machinery
  • Sitting: computer work
  • Repetitive movement of sorting and packing
  • Loading and unloading trucks using a forklift upon direct hire
  • Lifting no more than 50 pounds alone and assisting in team lifts of more than 50 pounds

Contract to Direct

Able to pass a drug screen

Able to pass a background check

Day shift 7am to 3:30pm Monday through Friday with potential overtime

Pay=$15/hr DOE
