Position Summary

Seeking well-rounded performer who thrives in a fast paced, demanding environment with the willingness to dig deep into details as well as the ability to assess the big picture. Must be independent and self-driven.

The Payroll Specialists must be detailed oriented and dedicated to accomplishing all tasks in the required time frame. The Payroll Specialist provides functional and/or technical support for resolution of payroll problems, incidents, issues, requests and queries. Liaise with other department or contract managers to resolve requests/issues in a timely manner and ensures proper documentation, notification, escalation, tracking and follow up of all incidents.

 

Duties:

  • Perform daily payroll department operations
  • Assist with processing both domestic and international payroll
  • Coordinating with payroll service providers for payroll tax/insurance compliance
  • Providing accounts payable documents for payment of union agreement requirements
  • Providing timely pay metrics to Operations. 
  • Processing of bi-weekly, semi-monthly and monthly payroll for 340+ domestic and international employees from timecard entry
  • Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely
  • Coordinate year-end W-2 preparation and international equivalents
  • Answer employee questions regarding their pay
  • Participate in Financial and Benefits Audits as necessary
  • Contact various department supervisors for any missed times
  • Process manual checks if needed
  • Develop ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed
  • Process correct garnishment calculations and compliance
  • Research answers, seek solutions and follow through on complex tasks
  • Execute time and attendance processing (Vacation, Leave of Absences, Sick Time)
  • Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports
  • Accurately manage remittance of employee contributions to 401k

Experience Required:

  • Associate's degree (A.A) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or three or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. College degree is preferred.
  • MUST have at least 5 years of processing payroll for a Government Contractor
  • Highly organized, strong attention to detail and service-oriented
  • Proven ability to work with confidential information
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills: Word, Excel and Outlook a must
  • Team player, comfortable in a fast-paced multi-task environment
  • Strong problem solving, communication and organizational skills
  • International payroll processing experience is a plus

 

Experience Preferred:

 

  • Federal Contracting, DCAA Compliance
  • Service Contract Act administration of Health & Welfare Fringe

Hours: Monday - Friday 8 AM- 5 PM

Pay: $28- $30
