Part-time Office Specialist


This opening is working with the City of Colorado Springs Fire Department. 

  • Perform a variety of general administrative and secretarial duties in support of assigned department, division, or team.
  • Review, research, and summarize a variety of fiscal, statistical, and administrative information.
  • Maintain a calendar of activities, meetings, and various events for assigned staff.
  • Scheduling (Outlook) and Online Scheduling systems - schedule meetings and coordinate activities with other City divisions and departments, the public, and outside agencies.
  • Screen office and telephone callers; respond to complaints and requests for information on relating to assigned responsibilities.
  • Attend meetings as requested.
  • Prepare agendas and other documentation and take minutes and notes of actions taken.
  • Data Entry (Excel) and Online Database systems.
  • Ability to conduct general online research.
  • Physically able to lift up to 25 lbs. regularly.  Temp would be assisting in putting together the various things for the staff to grab and go for upcoming presentations.  There are a variety of props, equipment, and supplies promotional items, literature  etc. that will be regularly gathered. 
  • Filing tasks.
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Office products at an intermediate or advanced level to include Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Have an understanding and ability to quickly learn the different applications and software used within the assigned department, division, or team such as Airtable, Constant Contact, Adobe Creative Cloud, and website management tools.

Pay rate $16.30 per hour+ depending on experience

Part-time 20 hours per week M-F

Temporary: about 4 months
