POSITION SUMMARY: The Central Registrar is responsible for receiving, completing and maintaining legal and district paperwork for entering students. Processes and verifies registration applications. Maintains all aspects of the registration office. Supports date collection and integrity for state reporting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Process registration applications and enroll students in the majority of District 49 schools.

• Verify registration application information.

• Assist parents, students and other school registrars with registration questions.

• Answer incoming calls related to registrar issues and general district information.

• Acting receptionist and information center for Creekside Success Center

• Provide district wide support during business hours through Live Chat.

• Receive, complete and maintain district paperwork for entering students.

• Act as a liaison between schools and central registration.

• Provide customer service to all visiting guests, parents and students. Answer questions politely and appropriately.

• Correct and maintain data in the Student Information System (SIS).

• Manages state student numbers using the Record Integration Tracking System (RITS).

• Assist SIS team with data.

• Maintain the registration web pages.

• Process and update information for returning students.

• Train temporary summer registrars in PowerSchool Registration and PowerSchool.

• Train new registrars/secretaries with PowerSchool registration processes.

• General office maintenance (ordering supplies, maintaining copier/printers).

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervision & Technical Responsibilities: This position does not supervise other employees.

Budget Responsibility: This position does not have any direct budget responsibility.

QUALIFICATIONS

The requirements listed below are representative of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required for this position:

Education & Training:

• High school diploma or equivalent, plus specialized courses in basic computer skills.

Experience:

• One year to two years of secretarial experience required. One year of secretarial experience in a school setting preferred.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

• Oral and written communication skills.

• English language skills. MUST BE BILINGUAL IN SPANISH.

• Interpersonal relations skills.

• Personal computer, keyboarding and word processing skills.

• Customer service and public relations skills.

• Critical thinking and problem solving skills.

• Organizational skills.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks with frequent interruptions.

• Ability to diffuse and manage volatile and stressful situations.

• Operating knowledge of and experience with personal computers and peripherals.

• Operating knowledge of and experience with general office equipment, including telephones, copier, fax machine required within 1 month after hire.

• Operating knowledge of current student data base computer program required within 1 month after hire.

Pay rate $14.97 per hour+ DOE

Full-time M-F 8 am to 5 pm
