Quality System Specialist

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing plans to reduce Defect Per Million Opportunity, eliminate rework and scrap, and pass all audits (internal and external).
  • Responsible for continuous improvement and implementing tools to assist in quality inspections and assurance.
  • Responsible for performing daily product inspection.
  • Inspection of incoming, outsourced and manufactured product against customer requirements.
  • Audit and maintenance of the departmental calibration system. Interface with customers / suppliers.
  • Maintenance of the corrective / preventative action system (material review).
  • Assist with the Development of new Quality System documentation while maintaining the existing documentation.
  • Utilize Statistical Process Control (SPC) software program for process control and improvement.
  • Ensure employees have training to meet quality goals; identifying, creating, conducting and maintaining the records.
  • Provide input on Design For Manufacturing of new products and processes.
  • Conduct Random Process Audits and First Piece Inspections / First Article Inspections.
  • Housekeeping – maintain a clean and well organized work area.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must have high school diploma or GED.
  • Able to read and write in English, with good oral communication skills.
  • Basic math skills required.
  • Basic knowledge of G.D.T. - Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing
  • Experience working with Quality systems and conducting audits. Previous experience in a quality assurance role.
  • Maturity and confidence to build bridges within organization (and externally) and develop people at all levels within the organization.
  • Attention to detail and strong organization skills are required: must be able to prioritize multiple tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with some or all of the following ISO-9000, AS-9100, QS-9000, & GMP requirements.


  • High school or equivalent (Required)


  • Quality systems: 1 year (Preferred)


Schedule: Full-time  (Monday- Thursday 6:00 AM- 4:30 PM)

Pay: $22.00/hour
