Job Description



Part-time Temporary Receptionist for a local engineering company.

Job Description:

 

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

Provide receptionist support while assisting external and internal customers, prospective employees, and company visitors.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Ensure the lobby is opened and closed promptly at the open and close of each business
  • Ensure the reception desk is manned at all times in a professional manner by an authorized front desk attendants
  • Route calls promptly and correctly to the proper extension or voicemail
  • Greet incoming visitors, vendors and customers in a professional and friendly manner, ensuring that visitors are logged in and meet security screening requirements as determined by the FSO
  • Ensure facility controls are met and that all persons entering the lobby are properly badged
  • Maintain daily travel log of  management personnel when not in the facility
  • Ensure outgoing phone messages are programmed and accurate
  • Maintain strict confidentiality with sensitive and HIPAA protected employee information

Other Job Functions

  • Perform support to administrative assistants as time permits

Required Experience:

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:   

  • Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards
  • Ability to interact effectively with peers and supervisors
  • Ability to interact appropriately with the public
  • Ability to adhere to workplace rules
  • Ability to read and write effectively in English
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to adapt to a continually changing business and work environment
  • Working knowledge of standard office equipment; personal computer, multi-line phone system, scanner, printer, photocopier, and fax
  • Sort incoming mail and sign for packages
  • Security clearance preferred (must be able to obtain)

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • A minimum of 1 year of office experience
  • MS Office Suite experience a must

WORK ENVIROMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Office environment
  • Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time
  • Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, phones)
  • Ability to lift  up to 10 pounds

Temporary (6 months+), may become contract-to-direct

Hours: 12:00pm to 5:00pm (25 hours per week)

Pay rate: $15 per hour

Must be a US Citizen

Drug screen required
